The 2026 Menifee City Council election
On Tuesday, November 3, 2026, Menifee voters in Districts 2 and 4 will each elect a city council member. Here is what’s on the ballot, how to check whether you vote in this race, and how to cast your ballot.
When is the election?
- Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
- Every active registered voter gets a ballot in the mail. California mails one to every active registered voter, starting about four weeks before Election Day, in early October.
- Register by October 19, 2026 to get that ballot automatically. Miss the deadline and you can still register and vote in person the same day, through Election Day, at the Registrar’s office or any vote center.
Who is running?
Two of the five council seats are on this ballot. Candidates are listed alphabetically.
District 4
- Randy Madrid
- Frank Sandoval, small business owner, raised in Menifee. That’s me.
- Daniel Stephens
District 2
- Ben Diederich, appointed incumbent
- Thomas Fuhrman
- Laz Peterson
The mayor’s seat and Districts 1 and 3 are not on this ballot; those come up next in 2028.
This is my campaign site, so I hope you’ll read my platform. But a voter guide should give you the whole picture, so the list above is everyone who filed and qualified as of August 8. The county certifies the final ballot later this month.
Which district am I in?
District 4 covers northeast Menifee, including Heritage Lake. The quickest way to check is the city’s district map and election information page. Your county sample ballot, mailed before the election, also shows exactly which races you vote in.
How do I vote?
- By mail. Return your ballot in its postage-paid envelope. It counts if it’s postmarked by Election Day and received within a week.
- Drop box or in person. The Riverside County Registrar of Voters lists every official drop box and vote center, with dates and hours.
